enjoi
DFK Duel — Season 2 BeginsIt’s that time again — the Heroes are rested from all their recent activities and are itching to play a game of cards in the Tavern. That’s right — we’re excited to launch Season 2 of DFK Duel on Crystalvale! There’s a lot that’s changed, so read on to learn about what’s new this season.Season 2 DatesCrystalvale: December 14, 2022 — February 8, 2023 (8 weeks)Serendale: TBADuel MechanicsMatchmakingThis season brings significant improvements to the matchmaking algorithm. Matchmaking will now reflect a weighted combination of Hero Power and Player Score to ensure that matches become more difficult as players rank up and that higher ranked players are less likely to face lower level Heroes. Additionally, entries now expire after 5 consecutive wins, 3 consecutive losses, or six hours — whichever happens first — to keep the Hero pool fresh and dynamic.Class & Subclass BonusEvery duel match now involves additional complexity with the addition of Class and Subclass bonuses. During the match, a Hero’s turn score will add the following for a matching Class/Subclass:Class: +25% to the selected statSubclass: +12.5% to the selected statAt any given time, there are two pools of Hero classes that are given bonuses, and each lasts for 24 hours. Every 12 hours, one of those pools will rotate out.Every match now adds a Class and Subclass bonusHero Daily LimitsIn order to encourage Duel pool diversity, we’re placing new daily limits on the number of times that an individual Hero can participate in each Duel bracket. These limits are as follows:Solo: 10 duelsSquad: 30 duelsWarr: 90 duelsThis means that each Hero can participate in a maximum of 130 Duels per day across all three brackets.Season LockIn previous seasons, we placed a two-week Duel cooldown on Heroes that transferred to a new wallet if they had already dueled in another wallet. This cooldown will now be increased to a season-long lock. This lockout period will be indicated in the Tavern when you go to buy a Hero that has already participated in this season of Duel. The Duel Season Lock as indicated in the TavernRanks & RewardsWe’ve also introduced a number of new changes to the way that ranks and seasonal rewards work!Player RankStarting this season, we’re limiting the number of ranks and adding tiers to them. We’re also curving the score necessary to attain each rank so that newer players can more easily attain earlier ranks while higher tiers will be more difficult to obtain. In total, there are fifteen ranks broken up across five tiers, ranging from Common 1 to Mythic 3.Player Ranks and TiersRank RewardsUnlike previous seasons where you had to wait until after the season to earn rewards, you will now be able to claim your rewards as you rank up! Whenever your rank increases, a popup box will prompt you to claim your rewards. You can also click the “Rewards” button at the bottom of the Duel splash screen.Note: you can only claim a rank reward while you hold that rank. If you don’t claim and your rank decreases, you will need to rank back up again in order to claim those prizes. You can see the Rank Rewards for Season 2 in the table below:Duel Season 2 Rank RewardsSeason 1 RewardsRewards for Duel Season 1 participants will also be available to claim through the new rewards interface.
