After working hard all day, Pets get hungry, and need to be fed. Read on to learn all about Pet Hunger, Feeding, and crafting Pet Treats!Treat Crafting and Pet Feeding will go live in the coming weeks as part of the Hero’s Best Friend patch rollout.Pet Feeding & TreatsPet HungerAt any given time, a Pet is either hungry or not hungry. Pets will only provide bonuses when they are not hungry. Feeding a Pet with a Pet Treat will make it well-fed and not hungry for a period of time, allowing those bonuses to go into effect.Pet Treats will keep Pets well-fed between 3 days and 14 days, depending on which treat they are fed, and whether the player has the Premium Provisions Power-Up (more on both of these below).When a Pet is first bonded to a Hero, it must be fed a Pet Treat, which will set its “Hungry At” status to an appropriate time in the future. Pets cannot be fed again until they are within 12 hours of being hungry (“feedable”).When a Pet is fed, its “Hungry At” time is increased by the duration of the Pet Treat, regardless of how soon it was fed. Therefore, there is no penalty for feeding a Pet as soon as it is eligible to be fed.Pets can only be fed while bonded to a Hero, but not while that Hero companion is questing or meditating.Pet bonuses for questing are applied at the time that the quest is completed. If a Pet goes hungry before a quest is completed, its bonuses will not be applied, so be sure to keep your Pets fed before sending them out on their adventures!Pet TreatsThere are two types of Pet Treats to choose from that will keep your Pet happy and well-fed:Regular Pet Treat- Keeps the Pet well-fed for 72 hoursPremium Pet Treat- Keeps the Pet well-fed for 10 days- Grants +2% XP boost from QuestsAll Pets are eligible to consume either type of Pet Treat.Premium ProvisionsA new Premium Provisions Power-Up will be available to players to make their Pet Treats even more effective in keeping their Pets well-fed.This Power-Up increases the duration of each type of treat by the following:Regular Pet Treats: 72 hours → 96 hoursPremium Pet Treats: 10 days → 14 daysPremium Provisions requires an allocation of 500 cJEWEL/sJEWEL, and applies to all Pets held in the wallet. Unlike other Power-Ups, Premium Provisions requires a lock-up of at least 14 days, and has a 14-day hold time when cancelled.Note: If a Pet is fed by a player with the Premium Provisions Power-Up and is then transferred to a wallet without it, it will lose the bonus well-fed time.Pet Treat CraftingTo craft Pet Treats, visit Sheldon in the Crystalvale Marketplace or Nutritionist Ned in the Serendale Eastern Marketplace.Each Pet Treat costs Gold and requires a set number of two mutually exclusive ingredients that can be found through Fishing, Foraging, or Gardening Quests.Gold CostRegular Pet Treat: 25 GoldPremium Pet Treat: 100 GoldItem CostsThe following items and amounts can be used in crafting Pet Treats. The number of items used for Premium Pet Treats is 4x the number for Regular Pet Treats. Each treat must be crafted from two different items.Example: You can craft 1 Regular Pet Treat using 5x Ironscale and 4x Redgill, but you cannot use 10x Ironscale.Note: Three Eyed Eel was missing from the original version of this chart.Any combinations of treat type, ingredient pairs, and quantity can all be queued to be crafted within a single transaction (or a series of batched transactions, as necessary).Treat Crafting Launch EventFinally, don’t forget about our Treat Crafting Launch Event! With the introduction of Pet Treat Crafting, we will have a “while-supplies-last”, Craft 10, Get 1 Free promotion! This will be done by transaction, so 10 or a multiple of 10 of the same type of Treat must be crafted in one transaction to qualify.In total, 5,000 Pet Treats will be given out in each realm in this promotion, with 2,500 immediately available and the other 2,500 added 12 hours after release, to ensure everyone has an opportunity to join in the fun!
