So, let’s talk about the tiger in the room. 15,000 tigers in fact. Yes, as many of you all know, the Lunar New Year event launched on Monday of this week with a plethora of bounties up for grabs. With the high demand for these rewards, we saw a tremendous increase in player activity compared to the Winter Event, which led to server strain and a rapid drain of the Tier 2 Jin’Hu pools.

While it was intentionally designed so that spawn rates and preferred bait bonuses were increased for event Venari, it is clear that under such high demand, it’s simply not feasible with the estimated pool sizes that we create. So, we responded with our first ever deployment of an alternate version of a Venari, the umbral Jin’Hu. The Umbral variants are something we’ve experimented with before very early on in development and we hope you’ll enjoy the new look for known Venari. This may be a potential solution we look towards for “extinct” (I really don’t like this term) variants but there’s many other solutions we’re considering as well.

However, we’ll also be rolling back the changes we made to the event bait/event Venari so their values should be more in-line with the normal seasonal Venari. We’ll be keeping an eye on these changes (they rolled out earlier this morning) and will be making adjustments if needed. Good luck on chasing the bounties!

HOTFIX PATCH NOTES (February 9th, 2022):

EVENT BAIT SPAWNING CHANGES:

• Preferred Bonus back down to double chance.
• Bonus Event Odds to spawn removed.
• Together, these caused a loophole where the baits could be abused to spawn non-event Venari at an extremely high rate. We’ll likely revert some of these changes when the issue is solved.

SHOP CHANGES:

• Due to high demand during Yue’Guxiang, the shops at the City of Tecta and Mirala Town have limited purchasing Steamed Morsax to 10 a day (shared between both locations) and Ayena Roast Lurken to 3 a day.

BALANCING CHANGES:

• New Combo Ratios for the Tier 2 Umbral Jin’Hu
• Location changes for Tier 2 Umbral Jin’Hu
