The day is here! Axie Infinity: Origin is now available to play via Mavis Hub! This is an Early Access release and there will be many upgrades over the coming weeks and months.

We thank everyone in the community for their patience as we re-created the Battle system from scratch to be more fun, beautiful, and engaging. This is a huge step for the Axie Infinity ecosystem and it took the support from every community member to make this happen.

How To Play

Existing Players

All existing Marketplace accounts have been migrated over to the new Sky Mavis account system. To play, simply log into Mavis Hub and then install Origin. You’ll be able to login with your usual email and password.

Click this button to sync your Axies.

To sync your NFT Axies in Origin, click “Axie” on the home screen, and press the sync button on the top right.

​​New Players

Players that are new to Axie can simply click Register on the Origin login screen to create a new Sky Mavis account. You can begin playing Origin with that account immediately!

When you’re ready to purchase your first blockchain Axie, you’ll need to create a Ronin wallet and deposit* or buy some ETH. Next, log into the marketplace and link your Ronin wallet. Now you are ready to buy Axies!

The Path Forward

The central focus for this Early Access release is to collect player feedback and gameplay data to be able to tweak and improve before a full launch. Because of this, there may be significant changes between now and the global release. It is crucial to note that ALL progress made and resources collected in Alpha will be reset after this Alpha period ends. Now is a special time for you to focus on having fun while learning Origin’s new battle system and mechanics. There may also be some bugs and issues that occur, please report them to us here!

New Features

New features introduced with this Early Access release include:

• Free starter Axies. Let your friends and family fall in love with Axie before needing to touch crypto and NFTs!

• Upgraded Axie art makes each Axie more visually distinct and special.

• Sequential turns for a faster, more dynamic experience.

• Energy / cards are reset each turn to encourage aggressive play-styles.

• Card changes. We’ve kept most cards in line with their original spirit.

• Eye & Ear Cards. This is the first time that eyes & ears have ever had cards!

• Runes / Charms as power-ups. Our first glimpse of Axie progression and upgrading is here!

• Critical Hits have been replaced by a Rage mechanic. 

In the Early Access, there will only be non-NFT Charms and Runes, and we will follow-up with NFT Charms and Runes in a future release. Certain Runes, Charms, and other items that are craft-able in Early Access without SLP will require SLP for crafting in the future full launch.

There are many ideas being considered for the future including but not limited to using lower level Charms & Runes to craft higher level ones and certain Charms & Runes requiring Axie release materials to craft.

There are certain Cards that will only be available to Starter Axies for now, but will become available for NFT Axies in the future. 

Sound effects and music will also be further updated in future versions. 

Gameplay Tutorials

As Axie Infinity: Origin is a completely new and fresh experience, we’ve implemented new onboarding tutorials that will help even our most experienced players as they dive headfirst into the game. These tutorials touch on exciting new mechanics and details, many of which have not been revealed yet! Venturing through the PvE Adventure mode, you’ll be able to immerse yourself into the engaging and rich lore of Lunacia through a brand new story and dialogue between Starter Axies.

Balancing

Please note that we will be deploying rapid balancing adjustments to Cards, Runes, and Charms as we gather data and feedback from the community. Expect there to be some overpowered cards, card combos, runes, and charms. Do not make marketplace decisions around the current power dynamics as balancing will be done very quickly during Early Access. In addition, remember that all Runes and Charms from the Early Access period will be reset.

The battle meta in Origin will change continuously over Seasons through a variety of components including introduction, deprecation, and updates to: 

• Charms & Runes 

• Body Parts

• Gameplay Mechanics 

• Class Attributes

As with any competitive game there needs to be constant updates to maintain a fresh, exciting, and fun experience for players.

Free Starter Axies

With the introduction of free non-NFT Starter Axies, the core game can now be tried for free! Inviting your friends and family to try it out has never been easier. Finally new players will be able to learn the game, and fall in love with the universe before needing to touch crypto and NFTs!

Rewards

Given this is the Alpha version for testing, no SLP or AXS will be rewarded in Origin for now. Battles v2 (Classic) will continue to run in parallel until we are ready to deprecate Classic and move the token rewards into Origin. We’ll know more about the timeline for this transition over the next few weeks as we digest feedback from the community.

Please provide any feedback as you play here: Axie Infinity: Origin - Feedback. This could be anything including but not limited to bug reports, something you particularly liked, game balance suggestions, and ways to improve the visual interface. 

We’re very excited for all Lunacians to start diving into this brand new experience, as well as carefully listening to all the feedback about it! 

Axie Infinity: Origin’s Early Access is only the beginning of what’s to come. Our team plans to update, iterate, and significantly expand upon this initial build. This may include features in the future such as cosmetics, upgraded parts, tournaments, and a rogue-like game mode.
