The more success the DeFi Kingdoms project sees, the more committed the team is to finding ways to give back to the community and make meaningful difference in the world. Back in December, with the tragedy of Typhoon Odette, the DeFi Kingdoms team and community jumped into action. The community donated about $350,000 USD, and after the match the total donation was $600,000 USD. The success of that fundraiser has inspired the team to undertake ongoing efforts to give back to the global community.

For the month of April, we are collecting donations for The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). UNICEF was established in the aftermath of World War II to help children whose lives and futures were at risk — no matter what country they were from. UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. Donations can be made in a variety of tokens, in either Serendale or Crystalvale. To donate, visit the Jeweler (Lila in Serendale or Dwarf Bozmer in Crystalvale). Donations will be matched up to $250,000 USD in JEWEL. Donors will receive in-game achievements that are linked to their donations.

Our desire is to see the project and community continue to give back. With this cause, as well as other future charity efforts, our intention is to communicate often with the charity to ensure effective use of the funds, and to receive data to share with the community how their donations are being utilized. As we move forward we will continue to develop this program by focusing on community identified charities and initiatives.
