To do that, we’ve reached international soccer stars that were happy to join the first soccer metaverse as licensed real-life players, namely Thomas Partey, Emiliano Martínez and Ronaldinho.

These are rare NFTs, titled Icons, which users can collect and use while playing — valuable assets that can improve the performance of the team.

Icons will be divided into four categories, according to the evolutionary stage of the player:

• Young Icon — early stages and ready to learn
• Mid Icon — moving to his maximum potential
• Prime Icon — maximum potential
• Immortal Icon — maximum potential but never ages

Players from all categories will age at normal game rates and retire at the usual age, around 38, which means they can be used between 10 to 19 months. The exception goes to Immortals, who always maintain the same potential level, so they can be used and traded forever.

There will be only one Immortal Icon of each of the real-life players. These are the rarest assets in MetaSoccer. Young, Mid and Prime Icons will also be limited versions, which adds to their value.

Some players within the Icons are already retired from professional soccer, like Ronaldinho, and these players will be within a category of their own, titled Legends, which follows the same rules.

All Icons categories will include characteristics mimicking the real players’ style of playing and performance on the pitch.

The first drop of real-life players will include a total of 50 NFTs of all types of Icons for Thomas Partey, Emiliano Martínez and Ronaldinho, and will take place soon. Closer to the date we’ll give more details.
